Acupuncturist and Herbalist
Aime Adams is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and yoga/meditation instructor. She has been a licensed health practitioner for over 15 years and currently integrates both Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) into her practice.
Although Aime is a Chinese Medicine generalist and enjoys helping patients ease into the receptive mode where they experience relief in their bodies and an increased ability to calm their minds. Aime has a calm and soothing voice and presence, and sometimes sings sacred chants in her sessions.
Aime also has experience successfully treating patients for physical and psycho-emotional discomfort, addictions, gynecology, fertility, pregnancy, prenatal and postpartum care, digestive issues, neurology, and dermatology among other conditions. Aime adheres to the old Chinese saying of “One disease, many treatments, many diseases, one treatment.” She aims to understand the uniqueness of each patient’s experiences to provide truly individualized care.
Aime enjoys offering mindfulness meditations and opportunities for connection during her community acupuncture sessions. Aime teaches the concept of curating our thoughts to become the observer of them which helps us to be more in charge of our health and happiness.
Prior to opening her practice in Maryland, Aime worked at CHI Healthcare a non-profit which aimed to bridge the gap between the Western and Eastern Medical worlds. She also provided Chinese Medicine sessions and educational seminars on a cruise ship that traveled through the Panama Canal, Latin America, the Western coast of the United States, Canada, and Alaska. While in school, Aime worked as an intern in the offices of two of her Chinese medicine master instructors in the Washington DC area.
Additionally, from 2005-2011, Aime maintained two separate careers, one as a Health Practitioner (Massage Therapy and Yoga), and the other in an International Relations position. Shortly after providing her healing services at the White House in 2008-2009 to a former US President and his family members, Aime resigned from her International Relations position to dedicate her life as a full-time healer.
Aime values peaceful moments in nature, self-care, and all forms of kindness. Out of all her accomplishments, Aime is most proud of her cultivation of personal awareness and happiness. She approaches healing the same way she approaches life, with both grit and grace.
